Welcome to CCAA at George Mason University

The Center for Cybersecurity Analytics and Automation (CCAA) was established under the National Science Foundation (NSF) Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (IUCRC) program. The center was a multi-university and multi-industry consortium led by George Mason University, in partnership with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Colorado State University, and a broad membership of industry and government organizations. The Center was originally established and led by the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in June 2013. Leadership transitioned to Mason in 2020, continuing until its end of operations in August 2024.

The goal of the Center was to build a critical mass of inter-disciplinary academic researchers and industry partners for addressing current and future challenges in cybersecurity analytics and automation to improve service assurability, security and resiliency of enterprise IT systems, cloud/SDN data centers, and cyber-physical systems by applying innovative analytics and automation solutions.

NSF Industry-University Cooperative Research Centers (IUCRC)

NSFEach IUCRC center is established to conduct research that is of interest to both the industry and the university with which it is involved, with the provision that the industry must provide major support to the center at all times. The centers rely primarily on the involvement of graduate students in their research projects, thus developing students who are knowledgeable in industrially relevant research.
